There’s no denying the fact that makeup can be fun, but it can also be overwhelming to put together an application when you have no idea what you’re doing! Instead of stressing over which colors go with your skin tone and trying to remember what brush goes where, why not try applying some natural makeup looks? You’ll look and feel beautiful, and you can still get all of the confidence-boosting benefits of wearing makeup! Here are five natural makeup looks that will up your beauty game
easy natural makeup looks
For a no-makeup makeup look, prime your face with powder or concealer to brighten under the eyes and on any redness. Dust blush in a soft pink across your cheekbones and blend well. Top off with translucent loose powder for a natural finish. To take this look to another level, layer a sheer nude lipstick over the blush and swipe mascara onto lashes for length. Finish with a light gloss of lip balm.
To get that I woke up like this no-makeup makeup look, start by using an oil-free moisturizer all over your face and neck.
Step 1 – Prep
The first step in any natural makeup look is prepping your skin. Products you will need for this step are a cleanser and moisturizer that have SPF in them, like the L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Day Cream with SPF 20. You should use these products every day of the week, but pay special attention to them on days when you wear makeup. You can also use an oil-free sunscreen as well if you know you will be outdoors all day.
Step 2 – Primer
Apply a moisturizing primer for your skin type. This will not only help your makeup last longer, but it will also help to reduce and eliminate any dryness, redness, and acne breakouts that may be occurring on your skin. The best time to apply a primer is before you put anything else on your face. Gently rub the primer in an upward motion with your fingertips or makeup brush (depending on what you’re using) in order to activate the product and prepare it for absorption into the skin.
Step 3 – Foundation
The only thing I ever use on my face is Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse foundation. It has great coverage, a sheer to medium finish, and it won’t clog your pores. The foundation is easy to apply with a beauty blender or your fingers. Plus, it comes in 12 different shades. All you need to do is swipe the applicator over the surface of the mousse then pat into your skin with the sponge-like applicator.
Step 4 – Concealer
This step is the last thing to do with your eye makeup, because after this step you can’t go back and change anything without getting it all messy. Concealer works to hide any imperfections on your skin so that you can go out in public looking like a million bucks! Apply the concealer directly on top of your makeup for any blemishes or red spots, making sure to use a brush or q-tip and use as little product as possible.
