A good pair of heels can completely transform your outfit and add some much-needed height to petite figures. But not all heels go well with every type of pant, so if you’re in the market for some new shoes, it’s important to know what pairs are right for you and which ones to skip. To get the scoop on the best kind of heels to wear with your favorite jeans, I turned to two female fashion experts—my mom and my sister—and asked them about their must-have pairs in their wardrobe that match perfectly with denim.
1) A Classic Pump
A classic pump is the perfect way to make your jeans feel less casual. For a more dressed up look, try a pair with a heel that’s between 3 and 5 inches high.
2) A Playful Mary Jane
The playful mary jane is by far one of my favorite heels. It’s a classic, elegant and comfortable style that looks cute with jeans, skirts or dresses. I like this style because it has a low heel height and is easy to walk in. For shorter girls like myself, high heels are more difficult to walk in and can be more challenging for your back and joints.
3) A Western-Inspired Bootie
A Western-Inspired Bootie: Cowboy boots are a classic style that never goes out of style. They’re usually made from leather and have a lace up design, with the top (or shaft) being shorter than the lower part. These styles come in lace up or elastic versions and can be found at most major retailers. Pair these versatile shoes with jeans, skirts, dresses, or anything else you please!
4) A Sleek Sandal
A sleek sandal is the perfect way to elevate your favorite jeans. A pair in a neutral color like black, nude, or brown will work with any outfit. Try wearing a strappy sandal with a printed top and white skinny jeans for an easy day look. Go for something more structured for the office with leather leggings and a dress shirt tucked in–you’ll be both comfortable and stylish!
5) A Fun and Flirty Mule
One of the best things about fall is all the cute booties you can wear with jeans. But sometimes, you want something a little more…sporty? If that sounds like you, then a pair of cute mules are perfect for your day-to-day go-to. We rounded up five different pairs that will take your outfit from drab to fab without sacrificing style or comfort.
