Anne Hathaway has given her mark of approval to glazed-doughnut nails. The “WeCrashed” star rocked her own version of the popular manicure on Oct. 17 at Elle magazine’s Women in Hollywood party, and we could absolutely picture Andy Sachs donning a similar nail style if “The Devil Wears Prada” was filmed in 2022.
Hathaway’s natural nails were topped with a light chrome top polish, which glistened against her navy beaded Ralph Lauren gown and complimented her silver Bulgari rings and snake-shaped necklace. During the event, Hathaway was recognised as a game-changer in the business with other leading females such as Michelle Yeoh, Issa Rae, Olivia Wilde, and Sydney Sweeney, all of whom donned similarly eye-catching ensembles.

Glazed-doughnut nails, made popular by Hailey Bieber and manicurist Zola Ganzorigt earlier this year, are normally done by putting a coating of chrome powder (or shimmering eyeshadow, as a hack) over an opaque base lacquer, but Essie’s Expressie FX Iced Out Fx Top Coat also works well. Nail lovers and celebrities alike have been experimenting with various variations of the trend in recent months, adding everything from bright base coats to contrasting french tips below.

Hathaway has been on a stunning press tour in support of her next film “Armageddon Time,” most recently channelling “Clueless” in a hot-pink Versace jacket. On Oct. 12, the mother of two sported a more subdued glazed-doughnut manicure than her recent version for a Today show interview, and later that day, she switched to a silver embellished nail style that complemented her beaded dress at a New York Film Festival screening.
