Dua Lipa’s catsuit period continues with her performance at the Delaware Firefly Festival. On September 25, the vocalist of “Sweetest Pie” took the stage in a stunning lycra catsuit custom manufactured by GCDS. The one-piece outfit had a rhinestone-covered bodice that was styled as an asymmetrical bra top and thong bottoms. It also had a glove-top silhouette with a single long sleeve, a huge midriff cutout, and an edgy chain decoration. Lipa omitted the necklace in favour of a set of dangling earrings and black shoes to complete the ensemble.

While the 27-year-old star is known for rocking bold cutouts (see: her “Future Nostalgia” tour costumes), this is one of her more boundary-pushing looks. She didn’t shy away from drawing attention to the thong cut, which she modeled from multiple angles on Instagram with absolute confidence.
This isn’t the first time she’s embraced the polarizing trend. On her recent birthday trip, Lipa posed in a similar denim-inspired thong bikini from John Galliano’s spring 2000 collection, complete with a semisheer sarong wrapped around the waist. Back in April, she also rode her blue thong over low-rise baggy denim jeans, embracing two divisive trends at once.

Lipa joins the lineup of trendsetting stars who have made catsuits and bodysuits their uniform for music videos and onstage performances alike. It also includes Megan Thee Stallion, who donned a lavender cutout bodysuit with a corset belt at iHeartRadio Music Festival, and Cardi B, who wowed in some imaginative designs in her “Hot Sh*t” music video.
