Ayurveda emphasises prevention. Purva Karma and Panchakarma are both preventative practises. Panchakarma treatments, three of which are Snehan, Swedan, and Udvartanam, are used to treat any ailment. Snehan and Udvartanam are the two that may be done at home on a regular basis. By adding steamers, the Swedan has become easier to conduct at home.
To help you with problems like strawberry legs, keratosis pilaris, ingrown hair, and bacne, you should be familiar with the aforementioned Ayurvedic techniques. Once you’ve resolved this issue, you should be able to keep it from happening again. Because the skin is a living organ, if you are not careful in providing nutrients to it topically, the issues that have been addressed may reappear. Mrs. Medha Singh, Founder & CEO of Juvena Herbals, spoke with OnlyMyHealth about some effective strategies to prevent and cure strawberry legs.
What are strawberry legs?
Small black patches appear on the skin. These black specks are reminiscent of strawberry seeds. Enlarged pores caused by trauma and dehydration, severe hair removal, friction caused by an old razor or even a new one, and excessive use of electric epilators and hair removal treatments. The larger pores that become clogged with dead epithelial cells and sebum attract additional dirt from the environment and, through clothing, detergent residue. When exposed to air, they oxidise, giving them a black pitted look. Keratosis pilaris, ingrown hair, folliculitis, and bacne are strawberry legs’ siblings. So, if you treat one of these, the others will be healed immediately.
As previously said, the skin is the greatest excretory living organ, and when not nourished topically, it signals that it is lacking in particular nutrients by permanently opening its different mouths (pores). So, essentially, everything it takes to be healthy should be provided topically in a routine, i.e., since childhood:
Intermittent Soft Exfoliation, Snehan, Swedan, Udvartannam (Beauty Oil, Steam, and Ubtan) should be incorporated in the regimen every three days.
The two skin behaviours of protection and healing should be maintained topically by using sunscreens and night creams on a regular basis.
Herbal solutions for strawberry legs
Before bathing, apply body massage oil. Massage lightly to let the essential oils’ tiny molecules to penetrate the skin. A gentle massage will allow the oil’s herbal extract (Tel Paak Vidhi) to heal the skin’s issues. Massage time: 2 minutes per leg. The right mix of essential oils of turmeric, orange, lemon, lavender, rose, and wheatgerm is capable of loosening and disinfecting congested pores. The natural emulsion ubtan, which contains milk protein, omega 3, licorice, mango butter, Jaiphal, Elaichi, Almonds, Cashew, and Wheat germ oil, unclogs the pores by providing the skin with these nutrients on a daily basis. The pores’ size begins to shrink. Apply an efficient moisturiser or body lotion to the skin for up to eight hours to guarantee a continuous flow of oil and water.
Apply Physical Mineral Sun protection lotion to your skin to further protect it. Before going to bed, wash your legs or take a shower and apply a fruit cream containing excellent butters and a lotion containing AHAs and BHAs. When you are committed, focused, and disciplined, the aforementioned techniques and substances will work. Ayurveda can only provide you benefits if these three Ds are present in you.
