On Sunday, Kate Hudson argued for an undervalued Y2K fashion trend. Hudson wore a thin, two-tone Saint Laurent dress in the largely forgotten colour combo of chocolate-brown and gold to the premiere of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” at the BFI London Film Festival on Oct. 16. We wouldn’t be shocked if the actor resurfaced the trend, which was once the go-to complementing hues for reality stars and runway models.

Hudson rocked the red carpet in a little translucent dress with colorblock panels, styled by Sophie Lopez. The dress had spaghetti straps and a plunging neckline that ended in a gold diamond-shaped strip at the stomach. The dress then flowed into a dark-brown skirt pleated with gold stripes on either side of the waist.

Hudson teamed the gown with a gorgeous brown fur coat that she pulled off the shoulder to show off the exquisite gold strip going across her back. Hudson also wore gold hoop earrings, matching rings, stacked bangles, and dark mahogany red peep-toe platform shoes.

While Hudson has had some legendary fashion and beauty moments over the years, she isn’t the only member of her family with an exceptional sense of style: on Oct. 2, Hudson’s mother, Goldie Hawn, dressed up as Cinderella to play dress-up with Hudson’s 4-year-old granddaughter, Rani Rose. Kurt Russell, Hawn’s longtime lover, was costumed as a royal.
