Skims has been named a CFDA prize winner. The brand will win Amazon Fashion’s first-ever innovation award at the 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards, which will be place on November 7. Kim Kardashian, Emma Grede, and Jens Grede, the inventors of Skims, will be in attendance at the presentation to receive the prize in person.

In a statement, CFDA CEO Steven Kolb stated, “Fashion relies on real visionaries to push the limit and carry our industry ahead.” “Kim, Emma, and Jens have pioneered new technologies in the process of redesigning the notion of solution-oriented shapewear with Skims.” The CFDA is extremely happy to award Skims with the inaugural Innovation Award, in collaboration with our CFDA Fashion Awards partner Amazon Fashion, which is a constant innovation on behalf of customers.

In June 2019, the shapewear and apparel firm was cofounded, and it has lately grown to include swimwear and bras. It’s known for its inventive textiles and inclusive sizing, and Vogue Business estimates it’s worth $3.2 billion.

Aside from viral fan favourites like its comfortable knit set and long slip dress, Skims consistently generates viral campaigns, such as its seductive lingerie session with Megan Fox and Kourtney Kardashian Barker and its retro campaign with former Victoria’s Secret models like Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks. But no one is a more devoted Skims ambassador than Kardashian, who often posts photos on Instagram wearing the brand’s thong bodysuits, sports bras, silver bikinis, and catsuits.

The CFDA intends to bestow the 2022 fashion icon award on Lenny Kravitz, the inaugural stylist award on Law Roach, and the environmental sustainability award on the United Nations. It will also pay honour to Virgil Abloh, recognising his enormous influence on the American fashion industry as a whole.
