I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: beauty “rules” are becoming increasingly obsolete by the second. Indeed, I believe (and many experts I’ve interviewed concur) that the only beauty rule that exists right now is that there are none! You’ll understand what I mean if you watch a red carpet, surf around Instagram, or spend time on TikTok.
However, do you recall learning about the colour wheel in elementary school? If we want to be technical, certain colours and tones will always be more complimentary to other colours and tones. For example, if you have blue eyes, like I do, some eye shadow colours will make the blue pop 10 times more than other, less complementing shades. You can ignore the shades and wear any colour eye shadow you like, but since my blue eyes are my favourite feature (and one that others frequently admire), I want to do everything I can to enhance them.
The best blue eye shadows are:
Jamie Makeup The Blighlighter in The Coral One

For blue eyes, I prefer this multipurpose pigment in either The Coral One or The Penny One. It works well not only on the eyes but also on the cheeks for a fantastic monochromatic effect.
Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in Pillow Talk Dreams

Each and every colour in this quad will bring out the blue in your eyes. Apply with a brush and create the effect with one or all four colours.
MAC Pressed Eyeshadow in Coppering

The colour and texture of this MAC eye shadow make blue eyes stand out.
Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Ruby

This Lid Tint in Ruby is one of my favourites from my line since it brings out the intensity of blue eyes. Simply sweep it across your lids and mix with your finger. Use my new Khôl Eyeliner in FTA White ($20) on the base of the lid before or after applying the Lid Tint to soften and brighten the red tone.
Pür On Point Eyeshadow Palette in Friday

This palette contains the ideal tones for an orange eye look that complements blue eyes. There is no talc in the shadows, and there is very little fallout.
