Sophie Turner has experimented with many different cosmetic trends, most recently “siren eyes” with a twist, but she took it a step further by getting more permanent hair. The “Game of Thrones” star made her Birkin bangs debut at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards on Nov. 1.
The 1960s hairstyle of actor and model Jane Birkin inspired the name for this style of bangs, which are longer than the typical fringe and fall in the middle of the brows and lashes. Devin Toth, a hairstylist at Salon SCK, previously told POPSUGAR that the bangs were “absolutely not heavy bangs and are, in fact, sparse enough to expose the eyebrows despite being long enough to cover them.” Particularly Turner’s reach the lowest arc of her eyebrows in sparse gaps and are perfectly symmetrical. She wore her long, red hair in loose waves with the unforced bangs and sultry, dark eye makeup.
Turner had her most recent haircut after having bangs since May 2021. The actor was still blond at the time, so even though the blunt bangs were cut to a similar length and wispiness, it resulted in a very different appearance. She now joins other famous people who have recently experimented with Birkin bangs, including Becky G and Lily Collins.
