If you follow American Housewife star Sydney Sweeney on Instagram, you already know that she’s one of the most stylish ladies on the red carpet. But we were taken aback by the 21-year-old’s most recent look—she wore her dress backward!

On Monday, September 12, Sydney Sweeney celebrated in Los Angeles receiving two Emmy nominations for “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria.” The 25-year-old star changed her appearance for the HBO nominee celebration at San Vicente Bungalows after walking the red carpet before the ceremony in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown adorned in sparkling flower appliqué.

The star’s gown was purposefully worn backward to highlight the three eye-catching cuts over the chest, bust, and torso, according to Sweeney’s stylist, Molly Dickson. Although the floor-length skirt was constructed of gathered satin, the contrast leather sleeves and thick patent strips running down the bodice gave it an edgier look. Elegant diamond teardrop earrings and Giuseppe Zanotti Bebe platforms completed the ensemble.

Sweeney underwent a complete glam makeover for the transition, with manicurist Zola Ganzorigt painting her nails the ideal shade of green, hairstylist Glen Coco straightening her waves into a sleek lob with a flip at the end, and makeup artist Melissa Hernandez lining her eyes in a smouldering, evening-appropriate cat eye.

Before heading to New York Fashion Week, where she sat first row at the Tory Burch catwalk show on September 13 to fulfil her job as brand ambassador, Sweeney photographed with “Euphoria” co-stars Zendaya (who also changed into a sultrier Valentino silhouette) and Maude Apatow.
