It’s been two weeks since I got back from my vacation in Europe and I still think about it every day. I packed carefully and strategically, but there were a few items that made the trip both easier and more enjoyable. Here are the 8 most worthwhile items I took with me on my recent vacation to Europe.
I’m a huge fan of linen pants—they’re comfortable, breathable, and they look great. I brought two pairs with me on my trip to Europe and they were worth every ounce of suitcase space. I wore them on long days of walking around cities, on hot days when I wanted to stay cool, and even on a few nights out. If you’re considering packing linen pants for your next trip, do it! You won’t regret it.
I never would have thought to pack a cropped tank, but I’m so glad I did. The weather was hot and humid, and this top was perfect for staying cool while still looking put-together. I also loved that it didn’t wrinkle in my suitcase.
Over-Sized Button Downs
I’m a sucker for a good over-sized button down. I wear them as shirts, dresses, and even swimsuit coverups. They are light, airy, and don’t take up much space in a suitcase. I have a few from Free People that have been my go-tos for years, but I also picked up a couple new ones on my most recent trip to Europe.
I’m a big fan of flowy, easy dresses for travel. They’re comfortable, take up minimal suitcase space, and can be dressed up or down as needed. I always pack at least two—one light and airy for hot days, and one slightly heavier for cooler evenings. This trip, my go-to brands were Reformation and & Other Stories.
I’m a big fan of sneakers—they’re comfortable, versatile, and can be dressed up or down. I brought a pair of white sneakers with me on my trip to Europe and they were a lifesaver. I wore them sightseeing, walking around cities, and even out to dinner. They went with everything and were super comfortable, which was important since I did a lot of walking. If you’re considering packing sneakers for your next trip, definitely do it!
I always like to bring a few new pieces of jewelry with me when I travel. It’s a great way to add a little personality to your outfit and make your travel photos more interesting. This trip, I found some amazing jewelry in Spain and Italy. My favorite piece is a necklace from a small shop in Florence. It’s delicate and dainty, and it goes with everything.
Wide Brim Hats
A good hat is essential for any sunny European vacation—I recommend a wide brim to keep your face and shoulders sunburn-free. I picked up a couple of cute straw hats on my trip and they were worth their weight in gold. They fold up small, so they don’t take up much space in your suitcase, and they’ll help you look chic while staying protected from the sun.
I never thought I’d be a sandal person, but these side-tie sandals from Spain were so comfortable and versatile. I wore them with dresses, shorts, and even jeans—and they always looked great. They’re the perfect summer shoe, and I can’t wait to pack them for my next trip.
